Key position responsibilities

- Strategically direct, manage and transition the operations of the broiler division.
- Plan, organise, communicate and execute the various broiler business activities.
- Meet set KPIs and deliver in line with the strategic plan.
- Review all protocols for the broiler operations division.
- Develop a data-driven broiler operation.
- Identify staff training and mentoring needs to support transfer of knowledge and skills development.
- Develop daily, weekly and monthly reports that give the Agriculture Director visibility on the workings of broiler operations.
- Review and revise breeder SOPs, then implement revised procedures to improve operational effectiveness and align with relevant food safety requirements.

- Work with the quality assurance team to develop a usable QA program that can be adopted across the broiler operations business.
- Develop, train and recruit local breeder farm managers who strive to attain international broiler standards.
- Engage new contract growers and ensure both new and current growers are trained, developed and monitored to perform to BPUL standards.
- Maintain all poultry facilities and equipment in the best working condition.
- Implement best practices and world-class standards in the broiler operations division as per broiler standards.
- Drive the implementation of BPUL culture and values and lead by example throughout the broiler department.
- Deliver the following success measures: 7-day mortality below 1%, FCR below 1.85, PEF above 280, average live weight of 1.75 kg, and 100% compliance to Biosecurity SOPs.

Qualifications, skills & experience

- Degree or diploma in Agriculture or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior position.
- Prior experience in the poultry farming sector is essential.
- High level of integrity and honesty.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Leadership skills with experience of managing a large staff complement.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
