Quality Assurance Officer (Processing)
Protect the Pearl Chicken brand on the line. You will police CCP, hygiene, and product specs in a plant that dresses about 90,000 birds a week for shops, wholesale, and food service.

The role
Key position responsibilities
- Monitor CCPs and OPRPs on the slaughter, evisceration, chill, and packing lines.
- Sample product for temperature, weight, packaging integrity, and visual defects.
- Swab the plant to the environmental monitoring plan; chase out-of-spec results to close-out.
- Hold, release, or reject batches with documented authority, including customer returns.
- Train butchers and packers on GMP, allergen, and foreign-body controls.
- Prepare UNBS, ISO, and customer audit files; walk auditors on the floor.
- Investigate complaints with Production and write CAPA that actually change practice.
The role
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, or a related science.
- At least 2 years QA in a meat, poultry, or high-care food plant.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC, and UNBS meat standards.
- Willing to work shifts, including early slaughter starts.
- Clear, firm communicator who will stop a line when necessary.
